TIMELIE RELEASED FOR NINTENDO SWITCH: A TIME CONTROLLING STEALTH PUZZLE GAME

Developer Urnique Studio and publisher Zordix Publishing have released the Nintendo Switch version of their stealth puzzle game Timelie on December 15 for $19.99, along with a free demo version.

Timelie is a stealth puzzle game with a media player-like time manipulating mechanic. You control two protagonists, a girl and a cat, to escape the world they’re trapped in. Avoid detection and distract enemy robots to reach the goal. But understanding the robots’ patrol routes and finding the optimal path may be difficult. That’s where the time controlling mechanic comes in. You can manipulate time to perceive the future or rewind back to retry using different tactics.

The time controlling mechanic is simple and intuitive. Drag the timeline left to rewind and drag it right to advance the time. The seek bar also represents the time limit, so be wary of the time remaining.

The girl can use her special abilit ies by obtaining certain items. She can repair broken floors that are preventing her from progressing, and eliminate robots within a certain range. However, there is a limit to the number of times they can be used. The cat, on the other hand, has different abilities such as distracting nearby robots by meowing, and moving through narrow vents that robots cannot reach.

There are various gimmicks for you to use including switches that open and close certain doors. A wall switch can only be operated by the girl, while the floor switch can be operated by either of them (or, by the robots). Pay attention to the robots’ movements and line of sight, switch between the two characters and work together to find an escape route for both.

Timelie initially launched on PC in May of 2020 and has received 1,275 Steam user reviews at the time of this writing, with 96% of them being positive. It’s a neat little indie game created by a Thailand-based developer Urnique Studio, and now the game can be experienced on the Nintendo Switch, too.

The Nintendo Switch version includes the base game and the Hell Loop DLC, which adds 10+ hours of content.
